Trade Lead Description:
It is a type of soldering rod with a special formula flux, which make it possible to solder aluminium together at relatively low temperature, about 3500 C. Cracked parts of casted aluminium parts: gearbox houses, lawnmower crank house repairing leaking radiators etc. Take the following steps: 1 Sand the area that need to be welded very clean. 2 Heat the area with the torch. 3 While scratching the area with the nail, apply the ALUTITE (with the
torch still on it). 4 Done!
The scratching is necessary because the aluminium start oxidizing
immediately. The scratching ensures that a non oxidized fresh aluminium is
exposed to the flame and ALUTITE!
It's not really welding, it's more like soldering - which is perfect considering the thickness of the trailing edge. The trick is to break through the Aluminium oxide layer and get the Alutite to create an intermetallic joint.
You can also use it to fill the screw holes on Cub wheels, re-drill and re-thread. Works like a charm!
It's used by the European car industry and they use ultrasonic equipment instead of a knife to break the Aluminium oxide layer...
Good Luck!
