Gypsum group is a branch of Mohamed A. Al-Rajhi & Sons Co.
It's the first group for Mohamed A. Al-Rajhi & Sons Co. in heavy industries & mining industries, the gypsum group consists of tow factories which are Yamama gypsum factory in Riyadh and Al-Watani gypsum factory in Yanbu, they are specialized in powder gypsum, and the production capacity for the group is 300.000 ton/year. Also the whole products of ceramic adhesive which manufactured in Yamama gypsum factory.
The idea to build a gypsum factory raised up in the end of year 1994 because there was a shortage of the local with the imported gypsum, hence the idea came to build the factory to fulfill that shortage in the local market.
After a while the location of the factory has been decided closely to the gypsum quarries in al-kharj road
